The song is getting harder to ignore, it plays everywhere I turn to on my satellite radio. Katy Perry’s new single “I Kissed A Girl” has the makings to become the swingers anthem for the summer of 2008. There aren’t too many songs being written about the lifestyle that make it to the mainstream, so this may be the closest we get as summer officially kicks in to high gear this evening @ 7:59 eastern time. With lyrics like: “I kissed a girl and I liked it; The taste of her cherry chap stick; I kissed a girl just to try it; I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it; It felt so wrong It felt so right; Don’t mean I’m in love tonight; I kissed a girl and I liked it; I liked it“ it’s just the right song to express how many swinging couples possibly feel about being swingers. Although, not everyone is a fan as posted on idolator. As reported, the song has gained a significant amount of controversy since its rise to popularity due to its perceived support of adultery. We think they got it all wrong, it’s not adultery if your other half can watch!

A couple days ago an email was sent from NASCA promoting a new documentary film that had been in the works for the past five years. Surely we were well aware of this fact and the anticipation was killing us!?! Not only had we never heard of this video, but it turns out that this video has been for sale as a DVD online for several years now and is not all that new after all. We wish they would have been honest with us instead of treating us like idiots and trying to pawn an already existing video as a new video. In fact, what is new is the ability to view the video online (speaker warning: this is one of those sites that turns on the music with no way to turn it off) for a mere $6.95 USD instead of having to purchase the DVD at well over $20 USD. Trailers for the video were available on sites like Myspace and mcomet but for some unknown reason were taken offline. Finally, a little further research shows that this film is owned by the lifestyles organisation so it should be a very well made video, however it’s too bad they resorted to this kind of advertising in order to increase their sales.

For those folks that are so hung up on ‘key parties’ I’m sure this is the movie for you. Released way back in 1966, this movie has keys plastered all over the poster so you know what kind of movie you are in for. You can visit the Internet movie database (IMDB) to read the details about this movie and a short review as well. Sounds like it’s not much of a swinging movie, but the reviewer can’t say enough good things about the movie. Here is a DVD review along with some still captures from the movie. If you are old enough to remember seeing movies in school on the projector you’ll get an extra kick out of this video. It’s well done in my opinion and a great introductory primer to getting into the lifestyle. As the video says: “it’s so easy even a monkey could do it”…lol ! They used to have a nicely done website but as usual, the link farms have gobbled it up and now the site is no longer online. It’s too bad, the site was really nice and especially the FAQ section. All jokes aside, this video is a great primer for anyone looking to get into swinging, and even if you have been for a while, you’ll get some good chuckles at how well they go over the ‘basics’.

The first thing I will admit is that I am not a fan of british comedies, but I also don’t get most of their TV programs either. Having said that, if you are british or like british TV, then this might be a series worth checking out. This DVD contains the episodes that were aired starting in 2006. The premise, a sex therapist that used to be a police officer with the occasional reference to swingers thrown in for good measure. The fact that it didn’t go on for years and years probably speaks volumes of it’s actors, script and or budget. I was able to find some real public opinions as well as a review for the DVD. It is available for purchase from Amazon, and while there, take a look at the 3 reviews posted.

I was just a sperm and an egg when this show premiered and even though I am a couch potato, I can’t honestly say I have ever heard of this show. The review is well written and has given me enough interest to check out this 70s show in the very near future as season 1 and season 2 are now available on DVD. For those Internet savvy people, some of the episodes are available for download on various torrent sites.
