Since this movie was filmed and released in the Netherlands, it is sub-titled in English. Apparently, the director is part of a very well to do family and was able to shoot this movie in his uncles mansion…can you say low budget? You can start by reading several reviews by members of the Internet Movie Database (IMDB). This movie is available for purchase on Amazon in PAL version as well as the sub-titled English version. Tonight was the big night for the very first public broadcasting for the Swingtown TV pilot. We are promised one hour of pure 70s sexual revolution in the way of getting to be a fly on the wall in the midst of suburban swingers. The short description in my TV listings promoted the show in this way: “Susan and Bruce Miller move their family into an affluent Chicago suburb and find themselves at the center of the social and sexual revolution of the 1970s“. The series is presented as a drama and from all the buzz on the Internet, most are thinking it won’t last beyond the first airing while others are cringing at the very thought of having swingers becoming the new mainstream trend all due to a new TV show. My guess is that your local swingers club will be very busy this week-end what with all the looky-loos that will be attracted to the lifestyle after having seen this show..that is if anyone besides this author watches it?

For those folks that are so hung up on ‘key parties’ I’m sure this is the movie for you. Released way back in 1966, this movie has keys plastered all over the poster so you know what kind of movie you are in for. You can visit the Internet movie database (IMDB) to read the details about this movie and a short review as well. Sounds like it’s not much of a swinging movie, but the reviewer can’t say enough good things about the movie. Here is a DVD review along with some still captures from the movie. The author gives you a break-down of all the sex and swingers club in the Washington, DC, USA area. Zach Everson has a way with words and creates a city sex guide including locations on a Google map that rivals all others this reviewer has come across. The author makes a note about the clubs all self describing themselves as being classy…skip to the comment section and you’ll know just what one reader’s version of classy is. The guide begs to be copied in other cities or even have this great format turned into a book series based on every country where you can find swingers. Read The Sex and Swingers Clubs of the DC Area, published on a very interesting site called gridskipper, the urban travel guide.

American Low Life has been on our favorites list for quite a while now. Even though we have never been to Vegas (yet!) it’s always good fun to visit and see what is happening in sin town. If you are visiting Vegas, you can create a profile and let others know you are coming and you should get contacted in no time by other visitors and locals alike. They offer great reviews of the local hotels and attractions as well as coupons and the latest happenings in Las Vegas. Here is a blurb taken directly from their website that really describes what they do very well: “AmericanLowLife is a free, ad-supported site. When we grow up, we want to be just like JanesGuide. The Maple Swingers website is a labour of love since being a computer geek and webmaster is what I do for a day job. Since designing for the web in the mid 90s we’ve seen many sites badly designed and some just pure terrible. It’s a nice refresher to enter The JanesGuide website and find that it is well designed, easy on the eyes, perfect navigation and so many features it would be impossible to name them all here. But to list a few, sex toy reviews, book reviews, regional listings, tips, picks and of course the main reason for this sites existence, adult web site reviews. If you search for the words ’swingers’ or ’swinging’ you will find a small selection of related sites. The featured artists section is not to be missed. Not convinced yet, their tag line says it all: “We waste our time so you don’t have to!”.

Although the site All Sex Reviews isn’t specifically targeted at swingers, the content they discuss is right up our alley! Reviewing sex toys since 1999, many webmasters could take an example of one of the best laid out sites we’ve ever run across. The information is straight-forward, pictures of all products being reviewed including books, toys and movies of a sexual nature and even a top rated section for those of us with limited time. They even take the time to let you know what their review criteria is, maybe one day Maple Swingers will come up with a product to sell and we will be lucky enough to have them review us.

The idea of seriously researching this topic by immersing yourself for an entire year, having many partners and then writing a novel about it is just fantastic! Sometimes you just want to reach out over the web and ask some people what they are thinking when they do certain things. This is one of those posts where I’m sorry to have to give some harsh feedback about a swingers website, but I am so annoyed at this point I just have to put it out there for the universe to do with it what it will. We’ve been members in the past and to be blunt, this site offered nothing for us as there were not many members from our neck of the woods on the site. After being members for a while, some long awaited updates were released which in all honesty seemed to be more exciting to the owners than to us, the members, but hey, that’s just our opinion amongst many.

What is really great about this book is how easy it is to read, well organized, full of great tips and best of all lots of common sense advice. It covers all types of swinging from couple swapping to threesomes and even getting into some role play or a bit a pain play…whatever your fetish is, the lifestyle wants you! Even if you have been in the lifestyle for a bit, you would still be hard pressed to find a better lifestyle 101 guide. It’s true what they say, the men get women into the lifestyle, but it’s the women who keep them in! Guys, don’t fudge your chances or getting her interested, learn to do it the right way with Adrienne Taylor and her Swinger Girls. 

If only I had a copy of this book 15 years ago it would have saved me a good decade of begging, pleading, and resorting to constant childlike behaviors such as resorting to making deals in order to get my way. Getting your wife or girlfriend to become a swinger is available in paperback ($49 USD) or eBook ($20 USD) format from the authors website. I was just a sperm and an egg when this show premiered and even though I am a couch potato, I can’t honestly say I have ever heard of this show. The review is well written and has given me enough interest to check out this 70s show in the very near future as season 1 and season 2 are now available on DVD. For those Internet savvy people, some of the episodes are available for download on various torrent sites.
