There are so many types of swingers out there that it would be impossible to list them all here so let’s take a look at one kind in particular. What about both? To be honest, at first it was very exciting to read and then it just went on to prove that, even as a single gal who is open enough to interview lifestyle folks, she becomes judgemental in the end. Take a line like “So the two had a long talk and decided to keep the marriage, but kick monogamy to the curb” - keep the marriage and salvage it by taking up swinging!?! Well if this author had done her research and knew anything about the lifestyle, you know that becoming a swinger to save your marriage is a sure fire way to have things go oh so horribly wrong. Another example is this statement towards the end of her article: “Maybe it’s just me (or all those corny romantic comedies I’ve watched over the years), but if I were going to be unfaithful, I’d probably do it the good old-fashioned honest way, by sneaking around behind my husband’s back.” Hmmm, I thought we were clear that swinging isn’t cheating so what is she referring to when she says unfaithful? Also, she would rather cheat on her lover than have permission to have sex with anyone she wants…oh, so confused?!?

Here is another story that has nothing to do with swingers or swinging, but you wouldn’t know it from reading this headline or this headline. When you take into account that this monster became a member of the world’s largest sex site, Adult FriendFinder, which just so happens to be a well known swingers site, it make no sense as to why they would use these kind of headlines, except to propagate false news. It’s quite obvious he had setup the profile to have sex with other ladies, which has nothing to do whatsoever with swinging. It’s a sad state of affairs when the media can only use the word ’swinger’ when the aim is to shock or even repulse. A more appropriate, non misleading headline should of read something like Neil Entwistle posted an AD on an online sex site - period! A couple from Hong Kong has gone to jail over black-mailing a newly wed woman to join them in a threesome. The bottom line in case you don’t feel like reading these stories: “Wong, who the court heard had Chan’s name tattooed on her pubic area, was jailed for two years and two months after being convicted of aiding and abetting rape and three charges of procuring“.

A poll taken by some users of the site LavaLife showed that the single baby boomers are happy with they way things are going for them. The good news is that more of them are sexually active, looking for threesomes and enjoy sex more now than they did before they hit 40. Reuters interviewed Marina Glogovac and prepared this story: Single boomers enjoy sex and do not want to wed: poll. On a side note, this poll was conducted to cover North American boomers and includes both Canadians and Americans in the results.

The Caliente nude resort located in Land O’ Lakes, Florida has been handed a suspension by the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) for hosting lifestyle friendly parties. It seems, the problem is they advertise these events on websites that are swinger friendly, and the association, which bills itself and it’s members as family friendly has started an investigation on the matter. Don’t you just love it when a swingers club makes news not because of what happens or what they are up to but because of who attends? You can’t blame the visitors to BigPond’s Game Arena section when they saw an article with the clever title of ‘The Wii gets a game for swingers‘. Mind you, the author Joaby doesn’t refer to the lifestyle per say, you know he is using the sexy headline to attract curious looky loos. Skip the article as it is not what we are interested in but go down and read the comments as the discussion goes where you think it will end up going. Yup, the majority of these members show their true ignorance by posting your typical slanders such as disturbing, key parties (I’ve never been to one, have you?), scared to end up with a fat person or god forbid, someone uglier than you such as posted by member Hawky, who you know wants to experience the good life, but can’t get beyond the stereotypes to find out if swinging would actually suit him and his partner. One last thing, these people chose to read this article even though the title was more than suggestive and then they publicly slam swinging, makes you wonder why they read the article in the first place?

Paul Stocker says that he saw Josef Fritzl and his wife at a swingers club by the name of Caribik (translated to English), near Amstetten Austria, in the late 90s. Now the rest of the world probably would just read this story and frown without spotting the questionable content. His wife watched in a corner while he had sex with a younger woman?!? Excuse me, but unless European clubs work differently than North American clubs who is this young lady that was so in need that she chose Josef over the zillion other single guys available that night? A little more detail is available from the story published in the Sun. So many questions, but man it goes to prove that even normal looking swingers can be freaks, weirdos, or plain insane in the brain…caveat emptor.

Alan R. Levy published a very interesting story in the Yale Law Journal with a title sure to get your attention: ‘How “Swingers” Might Save Hollywood from a Federal Pornography Statute‘. It seems that in the US, pornographers and the like have been fighting and losing the ‘proof of age’ legal battle that has plagued them for years. In a funny turn of things, it seems that swingers have more power than pornographers, they took the law to the upper courts and actually managed to do what the sex industry has tried and failed. Not sure how true this story really is, but it does make for a good idea. Well audiogirl, I guess the fact that we’ve covered it here and a Google news search finds 10 sources for the story means it’s enough of a news story after all. Finally, ocnikki brought up a good point, what would a ‘club’ need a 600 pound ice maker for? I mean, duh who needs to make 600 lbs of ice using little dinky ice trays? While these simpletons are gossiping about what goes on behind closed doors, at least the rest of us are enjoying our lives, having great sex rather than speculate about how it must be to swing. Things that make you go hmmm…

Not much of an angle on this story. As it turns out, Robert Dow, the new president of the Palm Beach County Classroom Teachers Association used to throw swingers parties about two decades ago. The Palm Beach Post printed an article that caused some controversy lol. The more I write about these supposed news stories, the more I realise that sex really does sell if they have to resort to a weak swingers reference to sell the story.

A Dallas, Texas swingers club located in a suburban home in Duncanville, has angered the local residents, but what else is new. Even though Maple Swingers are all for swingers clubs, we have an issue with anyone operating an illegal business, so we hope they can sort out their legal woes in the near future. It’s just beyond me how people can protest a swingers club in their neighbourhood when there are thousands of worthy causes that need volunteers with a lot of spare time on their hands. It may be wrong to be a swinger, but it sure feels right to us! Chateau de View was located in Pueblo, Colorado and operated by Dorian Lieto, formerly known as ‘The Hideaway Resort’. His oldest daughter is currently in the process of taking donations as this club was not only for swingers parties, but also the home of his family. It’s times like these that the swingers community need to reach in their pockets and help keep the lifestyle alive in Colorado.
