SIECUS Doesn’t ‘Swing’ That Way

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Before I move on the the swingers content, let’s find out what this organisation is all about: “SIECUS-the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States-has served as the national voice for sexuality education, sexual health, and sexual rights for over 40 years. SIECUS affirms that sexuality is a fundamental part of being human, one that is worthy of dignity and respect. We advocate for the right of all people to accurate information, comprehensive education about sexuality, and sexual health services. SIECUS works to create a world that ensures social justice and sexual rights.” Wow, I’m sold and if I were American it would be that much better…and oh, I lied about the swingers stuff. Yes, the sad part about what could of been a fantastic resource for swingers is that searching the site results in nothing, nada, zero, zilch, zip - no content whatsoever on the subject of swinging. Is it just me or is something missing here considering their mission statement, perhaps the abstinence-only-until marriage program is a conflict of interest with swinging? It’s worth a visit anyway considering the wealth of sexual knowledge available on this site.

The Penis Diet - Acquire a Super Penis…Naturally

Monday, April 21st, 2008

When you call your book ‘The Penis Diet‘, you are bound to attract a bunch of skeptics wondering what kind of snake oil you are pushing. When I first fell upon this title, I laughed a little and kept reading to see how wacky this story would get. To my surprise, it turns out that the title is the only wacky part of this book…but hey, a catchy title it is! Look, as a male swinger you may experience times when your buddy can’t perform no matter how bad you want him to. Viagra, Cialis and all the other spam messages aside, how then, do you take care of that Erectile Dysfunction (there I said it), but not become a pill popper? Co-authored by Damon Z. Cozamanis and Marc D. Grobman, The Penis Diet book could be just what you didn’t know you were looking for. The Earth Times, has a press release that you can read (purchase it cheaper than listed in the press release…click here).

Coming Out As A Swinger…To Your Doctor!?!

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

We’ve had the opportunity to out ourselves as swingers on several occasions from neighbours to co-workers and friends. So far there hasn’t been any negativity from our coming out but that doesn’t mean that someday, someone will take offence to our lifestyle. Until then, bet some of you have never given a second thought to letting your family doctor know about your after hours activities. The other day, I was called in for test results and my doctor was filling out the next form to perform a series of more blood tests to get to the bottom of this matter. He asked me if I was sexually active, yes, with your wife only? No, but before he could have a chance to label me an adulterer in his mind, I just blurted out: we’re swingers doc! Now, my doctor is young, well dressed, good looking and pretty hip as far as we are concerned, but being from a different ethnic background and religion, he didn’t know what a swinger was. Imagine, here I was in the office explaining the concept of friends with benefits to my family doctor…you know, open marriage I said. He nodded as if understanding, but I think a part him was thinking this guy is putting me on to get a reaction, but in any case I ended up getting check boxes next to hepatitis tests as well as HIV, better safe than sorry!

University Newspaper Keeps Lifestyle Stereotype Alive

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

As history has proven over and over again, the stereotype of swingers having sex everywhere all the time isn’t going away anytime soon. A great example of this appeared online recently as a comment in passing where swingers are mentioned. The Editor-in-chief for the University of the pacific student newspaper mentions swingers in her article about STD’s. It proves yet again that even young people, who are supposed to be educated, but lack any understanding of “the lifestyle” that they also will continue propagating the stereotypes about swinging and swingers in general. Here is the quote where swingers are mentioned: “Unless you are at a swinger’s party, the subject (STD’s) probably shouldn’t come up within five minutes of exchanging names.” read the rest of the story here: The Pacifican.
