Swingers Who Play Alone Should Now Refer To Themselves As Single-Marrieds
Thursday, June 19th, 2008There are so many types of swingers out there that it would be impossible to list them all here so let’s take a look at one kind in particular. There are some folks out there, not us, who will seek singles to play with as singles, outside of the couple. The husband can play alone and so can the wife, with full knowledge by the other half. Diane Mapes wrote an article discussing this new term for Seattle PI entitled: Single Shot: Single? Married? What about both? To be honest, at first it was very exciting to read and then it just went on to prove that, even as a single gal who is open enough to interview lifestyle folks, she becomes judgemental in the end. Take a line like “So the two had a long talk and decided to keep the marriage, but kick monogamy to the curb” - keep the marriage and salvage it by taking up swinging!?! Well if this author had done her research and knew anything about the lifestyle, you know that becoming a swinger to save your marriage is a sure fire way to have things go oh so horribly wrong. Another example is this statement towards the end of her article: “Maybe it’s just me (or all those corny romantic comedies I’ve watched over the years), but if I were going to be unfaithful, I’d probably do it the good old-fashioned honest way, by sneaking around behind my husband’s back.” Hmmm, I thought we were clear that swinging isn’t cheating so what is she referring to when she says unfaithful? Also, she would rather cheat on her lover than have permission to have sex with anyone she wants…oh, so confused?!?
