AFF Feature: Get Local!
Get Local! Let people know you are going out for the night. I’ve heard that many AdultFriendFinder (AFF) groups use the ‘local’ feature quite succesfully so I thought I would share with all of you what I discovered. There is a great feature built into this site that allows all of us to let each other know when we are going to be out and where we are going.
It’s the little tab at the top of the site called: ‘Get Local’ - click on this tab and you will see a map of your local region. Right below the map is a section called ‘Local Adult Directory’. The first thing you will notice is that there are categories and they can be mostly bare depending on where in the world you live. I would like to invite everyone to submit missing bars, clubs, stores and so on to the directory…it’s the only way to keep it up to date. Also, even more important is to go and add your review of the places you are familiar with…reviews are a great way to help others find out about a place from actual customers - you!
Okay, so how do we keep in touch? For this example, I’m going to use the ‘Sex/SWinger Clubs’ category. Click on it and you can choose a club listed (if there isn’t one, go ahead and add one yourself). I’ve added several items in the directory a couple months ago, so I could figure things out and write this mini-guide. To continue with our example, please click on a club of your choice. First thing you should do is write a review if you have been to this club before. If you haven’t, then go ahead and read all the reviews, it will help you get a sense of the club.
Here’s the best part of this: See the calendar? Right under it, select a month and click ‘Go’. Now, if under any Friday or Saturday, you see a number - it means there are currently that many people going to that club that night. Easy as pie right? If you click on the link and look to the bottom right of the calendar, you will see the attending members listed as attending the club that night. Side note, the hours are set for local AFF time so don’t pay too much attention to the hours posted as they are useless to almost everyone.
Now your turn…to the right of the calendar you can choose the date and time you will be at the club as far as 1 year into the future. Imagine this, you tell all your friendsd about this feature and next thing you know everyone in your group of friends is using the ‘Get local’ feature and we can let each other know when and where we will be going out for the night. I have been told that it works best for meet and greets where everyone can un-officially register for the meet…gives the host and participants a sense of how busy the night will be.
Bonus tip: Click on the link that says ‘Notice any errors?’ and you will see the address, phone number and website link to the clubs! Don’t ask me why they don’t display them in the listings…but now you know how to find it! Shhhh…it’s a secret between you and me!
