After investing time into researching this story we ran into a wall. It’s the first time it’s happened and we aren’t sure what to do so we present what we have found so far. As you can see by the bad advertisement included in this post, the only details available are the name of the event (Milf Week), the location (Hedonism III) and the dates (January 2009). Not sure how to go about booking this trip and it took some digging around to find the travel agents organizing this group and there it was once again. Since being in the lifestyle it seems that for every hundred people you meet, one of them will be a travel agent and promise you great rates if you book with them. This trip is no different, being organized by a ‘lifestyle couple’ that has a really amateurish website promoting the entire trip. Great news, we found that they have a Yahoo group for swingers attending the trip to meet others going on the trip. After two requests for access to this group so we could finish writing this short article, and clearly told them we would be promoting their group on this site, this is what they sent us: “We do like to keep the site solely for those who signed up with us. However we are sure we will be easily identifiable and look forward to meeting you in Hedo”. Sounds a little strange to me that they would chose to not have free advertising from another lifestyle business. What are they hiding? Are there actually any members on the yahoo group at all to discuss with? Hmmm, is the economy crash in the US causing this group to have low bookings just like every other travel agent in the country? This could be a sign of things to come.
Kimmies Lifestyle Mansion Party claims to be the first and only lifestyle mansion in the Toronto area offering swingers parties hosted by DJsin. The doors opened in July of this year with a VIP black tie affair as can be seen in this AD. This party offers more amenities than your typical swingers club such as indoor heated pool, large hot tub, large screen TV with erotic movies, gym, sauna, steam room, spa, large and small dance floor, outside patio, and the list goes on. Kimmies Lifestyle Mansion is a bring your own liquor (BYOB) venue but you can have it served to you by the friendly staff. One word of warning though, if you are going to visit this site late at night or don’t want any surprises, please mute your speakers as almost every link on this site has an annoying audio track attached to it that automatically starts and there is no way to turn it off…arghhh!
Instead of focusing on a single club, let’s talk about the Pleasure Palace (warning none of the menu links work on this site) swingers club in Tampa, Florida, USA which lost it’s liquor license as recently as October of this year. Fear not, the Pleasure Palace is still going strong and this was taken directly from their website: “We are still working on the liquor, please bare with us. We are def not closing, so you can squash those rumors”. Their legal problems started this summer when Tampa morality police decided they wanted to shut down this club, read several stories reported by Tampa Bay Online. Around the same time, Intimate Times (warning this site is terribly hard on the eyes) swingers club in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada also had it’s liquor license revoked by the powers that be. Unlike in the US, a swingers club losing a liquor license doesn’t register as important enough to make the news at all in the great white north…go figure!
Club 91 located inside of the Beverly Hills Suites hotel in Windsor Locks, Connecticut has been shut down for allegedly hosting swingers parties. Usually, when this kind of story comes up, it’s quite easy to confirm or deny if it was in fact a swingers party but this case is different. Cannot seem to locate any website promoting parties at this location. However, we have clearly found postings of folks holding Halloween parties for adults only at the same club (see picture included in this post). It seems that swingers don’t require getting much press as this article (with video) for NBC affiliate KSN shows. We enjoyed watching the first few episodes of Swingtown as shown on the CBS network. The rest of them have been recorded and stored away safely on our personal video recorder (PVR) for viewing when time allows. One reason we enjoyed watching this show, besides the fact that it’s lifestyle related, is that the acting is good, the clothes and music compliment the 70s instead of making a joke out of it and turning it into yet another cheesy low budget TV show. We are in the process of writing an article on how to take great profile pictures in order to help you meet more people. However, many folks who want to share face pics are leery in fear of being discovered by neighbours, friends, co-workers or even worse, young children. The article is not quite ready but we came across this great idea and couldn’t wait to share! The concept is to take a nice picture of you with a smile and send it in to have the photo turned into a cartoon or as it’s really known, a caricature. Doing this would allow you to show your likeness to potential playmates all the while protecting your real identity behind a cartoon character. We’ve done the price shopping and we’ve been in contact with the CEO of Dimple Art in regards to creating caricatures for Maple Swingers readers. Not only did we get a reply on the same day, we found a business that has no issues dealing with swingers. Here is the reply we received when asked if it would be OK for our readers to send X rated and possibly group pictures: “For the caricatures you want, I don’t think we are going to have any problems if you would like to refer our website (Dimple Art) to your members. It seems that many lifestyle webmasters are trying to take advantage of the CBS Swingtown forum by posting ADs in their signatures. Take for example some members as well as the owner of the Swingers Board who have gone on to promote themselves on the Swingtown forums. However, they quickly found out that their posts are getting deleted. Most wonder why, some keep doing it and others even brag about being covert and changing their online identity to be able to post an AD to their favorite board as someone else. It doesn’t take long to find out that they are breaking the rules, a large white box above all posts clearly states: Please obey the rules of this community (no spam, ads, rudeness, profanity, adult content or irrelevant posts), but most of all, have fun. This makes for a fun time watching the swingers post ADs and then I’m sure, the non-swingers hit the ‘report a violation’ button…round and round we go. One post still alive at the time of this writting was from the people organizing Swingfest 2008, it was still there with a signature that clearly advertises a link to the Swingfest site…it may be interesting to see how much longer the post will remain up?

To be honest, at first it was very exciting to read and then it just went on to prove that, even as a single gal who is open enough to interview lifestyle folks, she becomes judgemental in the end. Take a line like “So the two had a long talk and decided to keep the marriage, but kick monogamy to the curb” - keep the marriage and salvage it by taking up swinging!?! Well if this author had done her research and knew anything about the lifestyle, you know that becoming a swinger to save your marriage is a sure fire way to have things go oh so horribly wrong. Another example is this statement towards the end of her article: “Maybe it’s just me (or all those corny romantic comedies I’ve watched over the years), but if I were going to be unfaithful, I’d probably do it the good old-fashioned honest way, by sneaking around behind my husband’s back.” Hmmm, I thought we were clear that swinging isn’t cheating so what is she referring to when she says unfaithful? Also, she would rather cheat on her lover than have permission to have sex with anyone she wants…oh, so confused?!?
Here is another story that has nothing to do with swingers or swinging, but you wouldn’t know it from reading this headline or this headline. When you take into account that this monster became a member of the world’s largest sex site, Adult FriendFinder, which just so happens to be a well known swingers site, it make no sense as to why they would use these kind of headlines, except to propagate false news. It’s quite obvious he had setup the profile to have sex with other ladies, which has nothing to do whatsoever with swinging. It’s a sad state of affairs when the media can only use the word ’swinger’ when the aim is to shock or even repulse. A more appropriate, non misleading headline should of read something like Neil Entwistle posted an AD on an online sex site - period!
